Kawasaki VN2000 Bike Overview

Big power, big style and a big old rear tyre – meet the Kawasaki VN2000! First put into production in 2004, the VN2000 was the dream cruiser of its time from its look all the way to the engine.

Check out the ultra-low seat height (680mm), you'll want to keep on cruising for hours but keep it out of the cold and wet because you'll have all that chrome wrecked in no time.

The bigger, the better when it comes to the Vulcan VN2000 according to Kawasaki especially when it comes to the fuel-injected V-twin SOHC engine kicking out 2053cc and 103bhp.

You can bag yourself a brand new VN2000 from £11,000.

Pros

A good all round bike with excellent build quality, Kawasaki have missed the boat with this one it beats hands down any American cruiser in reliability and handling. Anyone who has never experienced the arm ripping ride of a Kawasaki VN2000 needs to go out and get one while they are still around . Awesome low down power with good balanced frame enabling comfortable two up riding, braking is that of a small car which again at 400kgs kerb weight and maybe 800kgs fully laden they're needed.. Unfortunately at 400kgs it's a devil to shunt about in car parks

Cons

Extra ride height for cornering two up.

Ride Quality 5 out of 5 stars

Takes corners extremely well but obviously being a cruiser the ride height is at a premium two up.

Engine 5 out of 5 stars

Being a 2053cc and only 105 bhp the torque is incredible, could pull a house down, very usable power band and even as a standard unmodified engine it does really pull you out of trouble.

Running Cost 5 out of 5 stars

Fuel consumption with any large bike isn't incredible but it's a 2Litre what do you expect, I usually get around 45-50 two up more if it's motorway riding, I don't get any more solo as it's so much fun with all that low power I tend to be a bit heavy on the wrist.

Build Quality 5 out of 5 stars

The best, I've got four of these from 2005 to 2010 models and they're all in the same condition, easy to work on, no silly electrics but ultra reliable known to go over 100,000 miles without a spanner inside the engine.

Brake 5 out of 5 stars

Brakes need to be respected, can stop on a sixpence even two up, at half a tonne care is needed but they are there whe you need them.
